Leonardo DiCaprio has openly discussed his struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

DiCaprio has revealed that it manifested at a young age, intensifying when he first pursued his career in Los Angles at 18.
Common compulsions that DiCaprio has reported suffering from include repeatedly stepping on gum stains and walking through doorways multiple times.

During filming of The Aviator while playing Howard Hughes who suffered from OCD, his condition worsened as he “let go” of managing his symptoms for the sake of the role. He struggled to regain control over his symptoms at the conclusion of filming.
